Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities mentioned they were notified by a individual who found a automobile in Hanau smeared with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state early analysis suggest the substance was most likely human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were attempting "to unravel the case" and have requested to the community for details.

An important official said the vandalism made him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the pain of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine victims by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
