“That was unfortunate. That was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters seated near me,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “There was a swarm of Cowboys fans—not Jets fans, our fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
Jones additionally emphasized that the signal was completely accidental, happening amid the elation following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he noted. “The action was accidentally performed. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”

- Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper was fined $300,000 for throwing a drink at spectators in early 2024.
